How many retakes is too many?

-Saw a post from voice actress Sarah Bowers a bit ago on LinkedIn about “clicking” during live sessions to indicate a flub. (great insight and actress so go check out her page and video) It got me thinking… Where should you draw the line when “Frankensteining” your self-directed sessions? You may think it doesn’t matter, but I beg to differ.
-For the unaware “Frankensteining” a clip is just merging a bunch of various takes together when you can’t land a solid single take. It may feel fine and sound unnoticeable, but don’t rely on these bad habits. Practice getting your reads as tight and concise as you can. You’ll improve over time and when you eventually work in a live session, you’ll be glad you did!
